Object POV
What is object pov? Object point of view (POV) is when the audience sees a scene through the eyes of a non-living object rather than a character.
My First Object Pov
What stages did you go through? To create my first object pov, I had to first hold my camera in a steady position towards a bright light, to ensure the AE lock was on.
After that, I had to place my camera in an object, for example, a cupboard, clear box or bin and do some type of movement or action towards the camera, without fully acknowledging the camera is there. I made sure that all my clips ended with me covering the camera in some way, like closing the door or placing items such as tissues or pens on top of it.
I then went on Premiere Pro to export all my clips and edit them together to make a seamless transition when moving on to the next clip. I cut some of the endings and rearranged the clips. For the ending, I chose a specific clip of me walking away from the camera to indicate that it's done and faded out both the music and camera.
Why did I choose this type of song and layout? I chose this type of layout to make my video appear like a 90s summer indie film. My goal was to evoke a nostalgic and carefree atmosphere within my music video, capturing the essence of summer fun and youthful energy. The song I've chosen is an instrumental track called "Cherry" by Chromatics. I think this song perfectly conveys the summer vibe I was aiming for.
How can you improve the technique? To improve this technique, I would enable AE/AF lock for most of the clips. This would help avoid white glare and prevent the camera from being visible during the recordings. In one of the clips, the camera is seen because the object pov is positioned in a clear box.
