Nadav Kander
Nadav Kander is a London-based photographer, artist, and director, he is known for his striking portraits and landscapes. He has published several books and his work has been exhibited widely. Born in Israel on December 1, 1961, Kander moved to South Africa after his father lost an eye while piloting an Israeli airline. He began taking photographs at the age of 13 using a Pentax camera, which he brought himself with Bar Mitzvah money.

My images reflect Nadav Kander style and motif through their use of low- lighting, minimal use of the colour palette, and the emphasise on red hues which creates a psychological depth within the photos. Kander often explores the themes of isolation and introspection, which is echoed in my photos with the dramatic shadows and sombre expressions. The focus on shadowy figures against dark backgrounds create a sense of mystery and emotions which is similar to Nadav Kander's work.
