Titles

What is the effect you are exploring? The effect that i'm exploring is how to create titles and utilise them in my music video, while editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.

What are the steps required to complete this effect?

I had to first get a text box to create the words and modify the front, as well as an arrow to move around the text and place it where I wanted it to be.

Why is having titles important in your music videos?

Titles in music videos are beneficial because they help convey information, set the mood of the video, and give direct narratives of the video. There are numerous types of titles that can be used when editing a video, including main titles, opening credits, lower thirds, subtitles and ending credits.

How did I use titles in my music video?

The ones I used for my music video were subtitles and end credits. I utilised subtitles to follow the lyrics of the song I played in my video, and I included end credits to provide further information to the people who appeared in my music video.

Fading

What is the effect you are exploring?

The effect i am exploring is how to fade images and sounds in and out of my video.

What are the steps required to complete this effect? I had to get a pointer on Adobe Premiere Pro, then point the start and end of the video/ sound that I wanted to fade out, then drag them down to the place I wanted to fade.

Why is fading important in music videos? Fading is important for setting the tone of your videos. Fading from one scene to another scene in your film determines how your audience experiences the pacing and mood of your video. Fading sounds create a smooth transition from one piece of audio to another; it can help fade out the ending of your songs in your music video.

How did I use fading in my video? In my music video, I used fading to fade out the second and last clips, as well as the sound at the end of the video. I faded the second clip of my video to add suspense and heighten the strange and exciting atmosphere that I have in my music video. I did this to show that my music video will start to get weird from here on out. I faded out the last clip of my music video to ensure a clean ending, same with the sound.

Why is adding sound important for your music video? Adding sounds is important because it helps viewers understand the music video better and get the vibe of your music video.

How did I use sounds in my music video? In my music video I used "Where's your head at" by Basement Jaxx, throughout the video. I chose this song because it's unique and strange, and it enhances the weird atmosphere, that i have on my video.

Grading

What is the effect you are exploring? The effect I am exploring is how to add colour to my music video while using Adobe Premiere Pro.

What are the steps required to complete this effect? To change the Hue, Saturation, and Luma of the colours, I had to launch Adobe Premiere Pro and choose the section Lumetri Colour. From there, a colour wheel and other tools appeared to adjust this.

Meanings

Hue- Means the shade of the colour

Saturation- Is the the intensity of the colour

Luma- Is the brightness of the colour.

Why is adding colour important in music videos? Adding colour is beneficial because it generates a certain mood within your audience. If you use vibrant colours it would create a cheerful and positive vibe within your video. Similarly, if you use dark and tones your music video would have a more sombre and gloomy vibe.

How did I use grading in my music video? In my music video i used grading to make the video appear more energetic and hectic. I wanted my video to be very wild and crazy, hence i used both bright and dark colours. For example I used dark pink and bright orange, and even more somber colours like blue. I did this so my audience feels a bizarre and chaotic vibe when watching my video.

Cut to the beat

What is the effect you are exploring ? The effect I am exploring here is how to "cut to the beat" within my video. I'm learning this so I know how to match the beat and video together.

What steps are required to complete this effect? I first had to hear the beat of my music video, then locate the point where the beat is continuous and use it. Once i found that beat, I had to click the letter "M" on my keyboard to cut it. A green arrow appeared to indicate the cuts location, and from there I had to drag my video to the green arrow and then the video would cut to the beat.
